Use this article to open the Universal Search Bar from any page in Perchwell, find a listing, agent, or contact, and open the one you want from the results.
When to use the Universal Search Bar
Open the Universal Search Bar when you already know which listing, agent, or contact you want and need to reach it fast, rather than building a list from filters.

Find a listing, agent, or contact with the Universal Search Bar
Find a listing, agent, or contact from the Universal Search Bar, the Search field in the upper right of the top navigation. In a browser it sits on every page, which means it is always one click away, wherever you are working.
Steps:
Click the Search field in the upper right of the top navigation
Type what you know into the modal that opens in the center of your screen: an address, an MLS ID, a name, or an email address
Click a result
Matches appear in the modal as you type, and clicking one opens it.
The Universal Search Bar opens one listing at a time. To pull up several listings together, open the Search page, find the MLS ID filter under Listing Visibility & Access, and enter the IDs separated by commas. Search FAQ covers this in detail.
What you find with the Universal Search Bar
The Universal Search Bar finds listings, agents, and contacts. The modal shows a results count at the top and groups the matches by type.
Listings. Found by address or MLS ID, and an exact match on either one pulls up that listing directly. Results are not limited to active listings: off-market listings appear, along with statuses such as Pending, Closed, and Expired. Listing Statuses in Perchwell defines each one.
Agents. Found by name, and the result opens the agent's profile.
Contacts. Found by name or email address, and the result opens that contact. Results come from your own contacts, not from other agents' contacts in your brokerage.
You do not have to type the whole thing, which means an address that matches the street name but not the street number still appears, and so does a result matching only a number you typed. Keep typing to narrow the list.
Things to Know
Members who came from a legacy platform may know the Universal Search Bar as Power Search. New Terminology maps the other legacy names to their Perchwell equivalents.
In the Perchwell mobile app, the Universal Search Bar sits at the top of the Search tab, and only on that tab. Once you are there, it works the same way as in a browser.
