What is Assuming Identity?
The ability to Assume Identity allows the appropriate users to log into another agent’s Perchwell account and see exactly what they see.
Brokers and admins can use Assume Identity to troubleshoot an agent's account, add listings on an agent's behalf, confirm that their settings are configured correctly, run searches and create reports, or make updates for them.
Who you can assume and how you set it up depends on your role. Follow the instructions below for brokers or admins.
Setting up Assume Identity Privileges
To allow an admin or agent to assume your identity, follow the steps below. Please note that the broker, agent, and admin will receive an email notifying them you have granted access to this person. When the selected person "logs in" as you, they have the same abilities as your account and Perchwell will track all history.
Select your photo in the upper right corner:
Click "Settings":
Click "Edit Profile" on the top right corner:
Scroll all the way down and select the "Can login as me" option:
Select the correct agent or Admin that you want to grant login access to:
Assuming Identity as a Broker
Brokers can assume the identity of any agent in their office directly from the Manage People page. If you are the broker of multiple branches, you will be able to see all the users in all the offices you oversee.
Go to the Manage People page.
Find the agent whose identity you want to assume by using the search bar in the upper-right corner to search by their name.
3. Click the agent's name to open their details in a new tab. Then click Assume Identity.
💡 While you're assuming an agent's identity, a Stop assuming identity button appears in the profile menu (top-right corner). Click it anytime to return to your own account.
Assuming Identity as an Admin
To Assume Identity as an admin, you must first reach out to your MLS team (mls@baldwinreatls.com) with your broker to request permission to assume identity.
Admins will not search for a user in Manage People. Instead, an agent grants a specific admin permission to log in as them, directly from their own profile settings.
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Click Log in As.
Enter the name of the agent you would like to assume identity of. You will only see users that you have permission to view.
Click "Stop assuming Identity" when you are ready to go back to your account.
💡 Only the agent(s) you add to Can login as me will be able to assume your identity, so grant access only to people who need it.
Things to Know
